Meet The Staff
POPPS Prosthetic Orthotic Corp. is an innovative, patient-focused prosthetic practice located in Palm Beach County.
Meet the Owner:

My name is Richard M. Jesteadt and I have lived and worked in Palm Beach County, Florida all my life. While growing up in Palm Beach Gardens, I developed a strong background in mechanics and engineering. This preparation helped provide me with the desire, drive, dedication, discipline and strong hand skills to be proficient at the technical aspects of prosthetics, orthotics, and pedorthic design.
As an Allied Health professional, my role is to evaluate, design, fabricate and custom fit my patients with artificial limbs (prosthetics), orthopedic beaces (orthotics) and orthopedic shoes (pedorthics). What qualifies O&P practitioners, as we call ourselves in the industry, is licensure and certification in prosthetics, orthotics, and pedorthics, along with specific training and education.
Licensure and certification requires a 4 year Bachelor’s Degree, national examination and mandatory continuing education through ABC - Americam Board for Certification in Orthotics and Prosthetics. ABC is recognized by federal, and state agencies, and the Veteran’s Administration as the established standards for orthotic and prosthetic care. Our facility has also received facility accreditation as providing the highest standard of excellence in the delivery of comprehensive care to our patients. Also my training and education has required m to not only earn a Bachelor’s Degree, but to also participate in a 24-month residency program in orthotics and prosthetics through NCOPE - The National Commission on Orhtotic and Prosthetic Education.
Before I opened my own facility in 2001, in Lake Park, FL, I had the privilege of working for ten years with some of the most highly regarded prosthetic makers in the field. Summing all my experiences together, taking time, caring about the function of each device, and thinking from my patients’ point of view has helped me bring the latest technological advances to the fifitting of the finest and most comfortable prosthetics limbs and braces my patients have ever experienced.
I hope that my background experience, living, working, and raising a family in the very community I’ve grown up in, distinguishes me from other facilities and demonstrates a long term commitment to my community and the many patients who need my services.
Although our facility is located in Lake Park, we provide services to communities throughout Palm Beach County such as: Atlantis, Boca Raton, Boynton Beach, Delray Beach, Glen Ridge, Greenacres, Haverhill, Highland Beach, Hypoluxo, Juno Beach, Jupiter, Jupiter Inlet Beach Colony, Lake Clarke Shores, Lake Park, Lake Worth, Lantana, Loxahatchee, Manalapan, Mangonia Park, North Palm Beach, Palm Beach, Palm Beach Gardens, Palm Springs, Riviera Beach, Royal Palm Beach, Tequesta, Wellington, and West Palm Beach.
